The brief report of the meeting of the Pauline Family
for the joint celebration of the beatification of James Alberione

The three Provincial Teams of the Pauline Family (SSP, FSP and PDDM) held a meeting on the 2^nd of January 2003 at St Pauls Provincialate, Mumbai, to discuss the programmes to mark the occasion of the Beatification of our Founder, Ven. James Alberione. After discussions the meeting has finalised the following programmes and appointed committees for the implementation of the same.
  

PROVINCE LEVEL

I. Programmes for Spiritual Celebration

a) Celebration of the Holy Eucharist on 16^th January 2003 by the Pauline Family of Mumbai at Daughters of St Paul, Bandra.

b) Solemn Celebration of Holy Eucharist, preceded by Night Vigil, on 11^th May 2003. The Eucharist will be celebrated by Cardinal Ivan Dias, Archbishop of Mumbai, at St Theresa’s Church, Bandra.

c) Renewal programmes and Seminars on Ven. James Alberione and Pauline Charism are to be organised independently by the 3 units of the Pauline Family.

His Eminence Cardinal Ivan Dias will be the Chief Guest at the celebrations of the beatification event in Mumbai to be jointly hosted by the Pauline Family on May 10-11, 2003.
   

II. Power Point Programme on the life of our Founder along with a short history of the 3 institutes in India is to be prepared and supplied to all the communities of the Pauline Family in India much in advance in view of facilitating the celebration of the Beatification Event at the local level.
   

III. A Multi-media Cultural Programme depicting the entire life of Fr Alberione prepared by professionals. This programme is to be held on a day near to the 11^th of May 2003. CDs of this programme is to be supplied to all communities at a little later date.
   

IV. Publication of a Book on the life of Ven. Alberione for free distribution. The book may be of approximately 72 pages, with 8-16 full pages of colour pictures and with one chapter on the Pauline Family in India.
   

V. Alberione Media Award will be instituted to honour the person who has made the greatest contribution to the media. The name of Mr. Rajadeep Saradesai of the Star News was suggested for the year 2003. This year the award will be given on the occasion of the Beatification Event along with the multi-media cultural programme.
   

VI. Mini Media Products like Postures, Holy Pictures, Book Marks, and Pens with Founder’s photo-medal etc. will be made available to all communities for free distribution.
  

LOCAL LEVEL

I. All our communities will organise, wherever possible jointly and also preferably at the Parish or Cathedral Church, the celebration of the Beatification Event to the best of their possibility and convenience. The final celebration will be held on the day of the Beatification in Rome, 27^th April 2003.

III. Media Materials for Publication in Newspapers and Periodicals
I request all our members who are gifted with the art of writing to prepare some media materials on our Founder for publishing in Newspapers and Periodicals. We will do well to present him to the secular world as ‘Media Marvel of our Times’. All media materials are to be sent to our Public Relation Office (PRO) in Mumbai, addressed to its Director, Fr Alfonso Elengikal. He will send them officially to the appropriate publication/publishing house.
